GSA SmartPay® - Go Green!
The 2010 GSA SmartPay® training conference continues to make advances to become a "greener" conference. Being environmentally friendly is a concept that many of us grew up with and it's a concept that we continually need to be reminded of. We've chosen many eco-friendly items as part of the conference this year to emphasize this message of respecting the earth's resources.

WHAT ARE WE DOING?
Reusable and Recycled Name Badge Holders: This year, GSA will recycle name badge holders. These name badge holders are made from 50% recycled vinyl and are fully recyclable. Recycle bins will be located near registration as well as the entrances to Building B and Building C.

Recycled Lanyards: The conference lanyards are made from 100% recycled PET Bottles.

Conference Shuttle Service: We will charter buses to shuttle participants to and from the hotels to the convention center. These buses use the latest "clean-air" technology available - B20 bio-diesel fuel.

Handouts: Session presentations and handouts will be available on the banks' and GSA's websites after the conference.

Training Certificates: Conference training certificates will be available for viewing at the conference but will not be available for printing while at the conference. Certificates can also be found on the conference website, www.gsasmartpayconference.org following the conference.

Exhibition Services: We have contracted with GES Exhibition Services to provide "Green" Exhibition products such as:
  • 100% recyclable carpet
  • 100% recyclable carpet padding made with 98% pre and post consumer content
  • Biodegradable trash bags and wastebaskets made from 100% recycled materials
  • Using online and CD distribution for 60% of the show's exhibitor manuals rather than paper
Green Operational Efforts:
  • Recycling carpet and padding
  • Utilizing energy efficient lighting
  • Recycling paper and ink cartridges from printers
  • Purchasing recycled paper and signage products
  • Recycling steel and aluminum exhibit structures
  • Retreading tires on the trucks
